The English Chapter of SIEC-ISBE is pleased to announce that the 2009 annual Conference will take place in England, from Monday the 3rd to Friday the 7th of August 2009. The location will be at Colchester in Essex, utilising the Marks Tey Hotel as the Conference base where registration will take place on Sunday 2nd August. Colchester is the oldest recorded town in the country and is steeped in history.
Local Information
Colchester offers visitors a town with almost 2,000 years of history going back to the times of the Roman conquest of Britain. Colchester is home to a fine Norman Castle, which has the largest surviving Norman keep in Europe.
The town is an ideal base to tour other nearby areas. Within easy reach is the beautiful Layer Marney Tower, built during the first part of the reign of Henry VIII, the picturesque areas of Flatford and Dedham which are known as Constable Country after the artist John Constable, and the historic City of Cambridge.
